Test Cases provide an automated way to run a Test scenario. A test case uses a single scenario however it may be designed to include multiple test scenarios/scripts with different sets of parameters to achieve a specified target.

In Automation, once you click the Test Case Icon, you have the following columns in the test case:

• Project: The Project is the parent directory of the Sub Project.
• Subproject: Sub-Project is the directory where all test assets (Script, Scenario, TestSuite, Services, etc.) are stored.
• Test Case: Here the test case name is mentioned.
• Scenario: Specifies the name of the scenario to be executed.
• Description: The description added by the user while creating the test case will be shown here.
• Last Updated: Specifies the date and time when the test case was last updated.
• Updated by: Shows the user name from whom the test case is updated.
• Action: Shows the number of actions that can be taken against the test. It has the following options:
  • Edit Test Case: Option is used to edit the test case.
  • Delete Test Case: Use this option to delete the test case.
  • Version Commit: Users can commit the changes, after clicking on any script Version Commit options a model window will appear in the same screen to commit the changes.
  • Version logs: Users can view the commit logs.
• Global Action icon: It has the following option:
  • Filter: Use this option to select the test case based on project, subproject, and last updated time period.
  • Download: It will download the selected testcase file.
  • Copy: Copy the selected test case to another project or sub-project.
  • Delete: Use this option to delete the selected test case.
  • Add Test Case: To Add a Test Case, click the Add button.

    Following are the fields for test case configuration:

    • Project: The Project is the parent directory of the Sub Project.
    • Sub-Project- Sub-Project is the directory where all test assets (Script, Scenario, TestSuite, Services, etc.) are stored.
    • Test Case Name- Enter the test case name in the required format.
    • Description- Describe the test case in this field.
    • Scenario- This option is used to Edit the scenario which is used in the script. Also can edit the scenario.conf file in the UI mode by clicking on the advance option.
    • Check profile: Select the profile from the drop-down and click the add-in table option. Also, you can switch to Add New Checkprofile screen. User can add multiple check profiles by adding them to the table.
    • Check Script: In the Check Script section, you can compare multiple test runs and define the pass/fail criteria. User can compare the current test run by selecting the previous testrun as a baseline.
      • Compare test Run- Select the baseline, scenario, and Test Run for comparison.
      • Pass/Fail Criteria-
        • Metric is green if the variation is upto 20%.
        • Metric is red if the variation is more than 50%.
        • Metric is yellow if the variation is upto 50%.
        • Overall test fails if 10% or more metrics are red

    Note: Variation is checked based on the operator used in the rule. For less than on the higher side, for greater than it is the lower side, and for equal to the operator it’s on both sides. Users can overwrite these values.

    • Advanced Settings:
      • Select the check box if you want to Run Post Check Script on failure.
      • Select the check box if you want to include transaction Count in Report.
      • Select the check box if you want to include Unexecuted transactions in Report (Apply rule on current or baseline).
      • Select the check box if you want to Report the Generation of the Duration Phase.
    • Iteration- Add a parameter select it is used in the script or scenario then add more values from add row as per need and then save the parameter for iteration. You can also view these parameters in text mode.
    • Pre-Test Script-The Pre-Test Script tab enables you to perform some actions like copy, delete, upload, download, etc before executing the script. You can add different actions on selected servers.  You can specify the required actions in this tab that needs to perform before executing the test cases.
    • Post Test Script- Using the Post Test Script tab, you can specify the required actions that can be performed after the execution of the test case. Select the action name from the drop-down and the server name to add action.
    • Mail Configuration- You can send TestCase reports from Load Test to the selected users. Using the Mail Configuration tab, you can configure the email settings in Load Test and send reports as an attachment. Add the To, Cc, and Bcc to whom the test report is to be shared.

    Note: Multiple email addresses can be entered. Press ENTER key after each email address. Without pressing ENTER key email will not be saved. Users can also change the default mail body by checking on the Edit mail body checkbox.
