Batch Jobs

Batch Jobs are used to execute some jobs before the test, during the test run or after the test is over. It uses the Check Monitor framework of NetStorm and CMON. A batch job refers to a scheduled, automated or recurring task that is executed within the SQL Server environment. In the Batch Job, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Action: In action, you can perform drill-down operation for each and every row by clicking on the icon. By performing this action, you can navigate to the respective child processes of a particular session.
• Timestamp: This refers to a data element that records the date and time when a specific event or SQL query occurred within a database management system (DBMS). You can see the date and time in the following format MM/DD/YY and HH:MM:SS.
• Job Name: This refers to the name which is being provided by the user for a particular batch job.
• Job Category: This refers to the SQL agent job category which has been assigned to a specific job.
• Enabled: This refers to whether the job is enabled to be executed. If a job is enabled, it will show '1' and if the job is disabled, it will show '0'.
• Last Run Outcome: This refers to the result for the last executed batch job. If the last executed batch job is running successfully, then it will show succeed or else it will show failure.
• Current Status: This refers to the current status of the respective batch jobs.
• SPID (Session Process ID): This refers to the unique session number for the SQL agent job.
• Last Run Date: This refers to the date and time on which the job lasts .
• Last Run Finish: This refers to the time at which the job has finished its execution.
• Current Duration: This refers to how long the current job has been running in hh:mm:ss:ms.
• Last Run Duration: This refers to how long the last test took for its execution in hh:mm:ss:ms.
• Next Run Time: This refers to the scheduled date and time when a specific SQL server batch job is set to run or execute next.
• Description: This refers to the description of a batch job which is being executed.
• Job ID: This refers to the unique identifier assigned to each SQL server agent job.

Notes: In the batch jobs window, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Search: You can perform search operation in the table by providing the job name, job category, enabled etc in the Search in table column icon.
• Download : On clicking this icon, it will download the SQL Support Service report in the CSV file format in your local.
• Toggle Columns : On clicking this icon, you will be able to show or hide a column from the Batch Job window.
• Toggle Filter : On clicking this icon, you can apply a search operation on columns in the Batch Job window.
• You can also see the applied time filter on the right side of the window.
• You can also show/hide the database table report by clicking on the Show/Hide icon.
• You can also see the batch job history in the tabular format in Batch Job History window.
• You can also filter out the Batch Job History window by selecting the time as per your choice by clicking on the drop-down provided in the window. You can select any one from the following: 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 3 Weeks, etc.
• In the batch job History window, you can see the following details which are listed below:
  1. Timestamp: This refers to a data element that records the date and time when a specific event or SQL query occurred within a database management system (DBMS). You can see the date and time in the following format MM/DD/YYand HH:MM:SS.
  2. Job Name: This refers to the name which is being provided by the user for a particular batch job.
  3. Run Date: This refers to the date on which the step started to execute.
  4. Step ID: This refers to a uniquely identified job step which is being executed.
  5. Step Name: This refers to the name of the step which is being executed.
  6. Message: This refers to the message which is being associated with the step.
  7. Run Duration: This refers to the total duration for which the job has been run in hh:mm:ss.
  8. Retries Attempted: This refers to the total number of retries attempted when the step was last executed.
