The support service refers to a service or component provided by a third-party software vendor or managed service provider that offers support, assistance and expertise in the monitoring, management and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server instances. SQL Support Service

The support status refers to the current status of the support and maintenance service associated with a particular SQL server instance or database. This provides information about whether an SQL server instance is receiving support, updates and maintenance and it also indicates if any issues exist regarding the support status. In the SQL Support Service, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Action: In action, you can perform drill-down operation for each and every row by clicking on the icon. By performing this action, you can navigate to the respective child processes of a particular session.
• Timestamp: This refers to a data element that records the date and time when a specific event or SQL query occurred within a database management system (DBMS). You can see the date and time in the following format MM/DD/YY and HH:MM:SS.
• Service Name: This refers to the name or identifier of a specific SQL server service or component that is being monitored to ensure its availability, status and health.
• Service Type: This refers to the classification of a specific SQL server service or component which helps in identifying the purpose and functionality of each service within the SQL server environment.
• Last Startup Time: This refers to the timestamp of the most recent initiation of a specific SQL server service or component.
• Status: This refers to the current status of a specific monitored SQL server service or component.
• Service Account: This refers to the Windows user account used to run a specific SQL Server service or component
• Process ID: This refers to a unique numeric identifier assigned to each running SQL Server process or service instance.

Notes: In the support service window, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Search: You can perform search operation in the table by providing the service name, start type, last startup time etc in the Search in table column icon.
• Download : On clicking this icon, it will download the SQL Support Service report in the Excel file format in your local.
• Toggle Columns : On clicking this icon, you will be able to show or hide a column from the SQL Support Service report window.
• Toggle Filter : On clicking this icon, you can apply search operation on columns in the SQL Support Service report window.
• You can also see the applied time filter on the right side of the window.
• You can also show/hide the database table report by clicking on the Show/Hide icon.
• You can also see the Service Status History in the graphical format.
• There are following color codes which are listed below:
  1. Running: This will show the total number of running support services. It will be shown in Green color.
  2. Stopped: This will show the total number of stopped support services. It will be shown in Red color.
  3. Paused: This will show the total number of paused support services. It will be shown in Blue color.
