The temp DB serves as a workspace for storing temporary data, intermediate results, and objects that are generated during SQL query processing and various database operations. It plays a crucial role in supporting database operations and ensuring that multiple users can work concurrently without conflicts. In temp db window, you can see the following details related to the database which are listed below:

• Action: In action, you can perform drill-down operation for each and every row by clicking on the icon. By performing this action, you can navigate to the respective child processes of a particular session.
• Timestamp: This refers to a data element that records the date and time when a specific event or SQL query occurred within a database management system (DBMS). You can see the date and time in the following format MM/DD/YY and HH:MM:SS.
• Session ID: This refers to a unique numeric identifier associated with each active database connection or session. It serves as a way to distinguish track an individual database session. You can navigate to the SQL Activity Session window on clicking to the link provided on the session id.
• Total Space (MB): This refers to the maximum storage capacity available on a disk for hosting MSSQL database. This refers to the maximum amount of space which can be allocated for storing data, tables, indexes and other database related to a session.
• Application: This refers to the software application that establishes a connection to the SQL server database.
• Host: This refers to the network host from which a client application or a user establishes a connection to the SQL server database. This will show the host name as well as IP.
• User: This refers to a database user that is authenticated and authorized to access and perform operations within the SQL Server instance and its database. This will display the name of the user which is accessing the database.
• Current SQL: This refers to the SQL statement which is being actively running within a database session. This will show the current executed query in the database.
• Internal Object Space (KB): This refers to the portion of memory within the SQL server's buffer pool that is used to store internal database object, data structure and system metadata.
• User Object Space (KB): This refers to the portion of memory within the buffer pool that is currently being used to store active database objects and their associated data page.

• Search: You can perform search operation in the table by providing the service name, start type, last startup time etc in the Search in table column icon.
• Download : On clicking this icon, it will download the Temp DB report in the CSV file format in your local.
• Toggle Columns : On clicking this icon, you will be able to show or hide a column from the Temp DB report window.
• Toggle Filter : On clicking this icon, you can apply search operation on columns in the Temp DB report window.
• You can also see the applied time filter on the right side of the window.
• You can also show/hide the database table report by clicking on the Show/Hide icon.
• You can also see the Temp DB Space Used and the Version Store Size Change in the graphical format.
• There are following color codes for Temp DB Space Used which are listed below:
  1. MSSQL Free Space (MB): This will show the total free space available in the MSSQL Temp DB.
  2. MSSQL Internal Objects Space (MB): This will show the total free space available in the MSSQL Temp DB.
  3. MSSQL User Objects Space (MB): This will show the amount of memory that is allocated within the SQL Server's buffer pool to store user-created database objects and data.
  4. MSSQL Version Store Space (MB): This will show the amount of memory that is allocated within the SQL Server's buffer pool to maintain a version store for implementing features such as: snapshot isolation and maintaining historical versions of data rows.
• There are following color codes for Version Store Size Change which are listed below:
  1. MMSSQL Version Cleanup Rate (KB/Sec): This measures the rate at which the database engine cleans up and removes obsolete or expired versions of data rows from the version store.
  2. MMSSQL Version Generation Rate (KB/Sec): This measures the rate at which the database engine creates new versions of data rows within the version store.
