Transaction Flowmap

A transaction flowmap is a visual representation that illustrates the flow of transactions or data between various components, modules, or systems within a software application. The transaction flowmap is used for monitoring the performance of the business transactions. A business transaction list contains high-level information on the application health and performance of a business transaction. The transaction flowmap displays the following information such as FP Details, DB Request Report, Method Timing Report, Hotspot, Thread Details.

Through the transaction flowmap, you can view the following steps/flow:

• Entry: This is the first step at which the transaction starts. It is also known as the entry point of the transaction flowmap.
• Response Time: This shows the total response time (in milliseconds) taken by the transaction for fetching the data from the database.
• Flowpath Details: This shows the flowpath details such as Tier, Server, Instance name, etc. Once you double-click on the flowpath detail, the Flowpath window will open where you can see the following details:
  • URL: This will show the path at which the URL is being hit.
  • Start Time: This will show the flowpath's start date and time.
  • Duration (ms): This will show the total time duration for which the transaction took place in milliseconds.
  • Error Count(s): This will show the total number of error
  • GC Pause: This will show the status of the garbage collection for the transaction flowpath, i.e. Yes, or No. In case it displays No, then the garbage collector will collect the garbage data. In case it displays Yes, then the garbage collector will not collect the garbage data.
  • Action: In action, you can perform the following actions in the flowpath table:
    • View Method Call Details : On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the method call details.
    • View Method Timing Report : On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the method timing report.
    • View Hotspot Report : On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the hotspot report.
    • View DB Request Report : On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the DB request report.
    • View Request/Response Body : On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the HTTP Request and HTTP Response Body in the HTTP Report
    • View Callout Body: On clicking this icon, you will be able to view the Request and Response for the callout body in the callout body window.

• DB Call Stats: In DB Call Stats, you can see the overall information regarding the DB Calls such as DB Type, Total Calls, Success Calls, Error Calls, Total Duration (ms), Average Callout Time (ms), Percentage of the success calls.
• DB Request: In DB Request, you can observe both the name and the IP address of the requested database.

Note: You can also perform the following operations on the transaction flowmap window:

• Download Without Node Information : On clicking this icon, you can download the transaction flowmap without the node information.
• Click to start dynamic diagnostics : On clicking icon, you can enable the dynamic diagnostic for the transaction flowmap.          
• You can see the Tier, Server, Instance, Start Time, End Time, Response Time, BT information, URL and keyword information at the top of the Transaction Flowmap
