Overview

A remote cluster is used for establishing a unidirectional connection from one cluster to another cluster. A remote cluster connection function through the setup of a distant cluster and the establishment of connections to a select set of nodes within that remote cluster. There are two distinct modes available for remote cluster connections: 'sniff mode' and 'proxy mode'. In the add remote cluster, you have to provide the following details along with the host and port which are listed below:

  • Name: In this field, you have to provide a unique name for the cluster.
  • Seed Nodes: In this field, you have to provide the IP and Port of the cluster.

In case the remote cluster is unavailable, then you have to click on the Skip if unavailable checkbox.

Once you have provided the name and the seed node, you have to click on the ADD button to add the remote cluster into the Remote Cluster Details List window. You can also reset the window by clicking on the Reset button.


Remote Cluster Details List

In the remote cluster details list, you can see the list of all the remote cluster along with its details such as: Connection Status, Seeds IP and Port etc. In remote cluster details list, you can see the following fields which are listed below:

  • Name: In this field, you can see the name of the cluster.
  • Seeds: In this field, you can see the IP and TCP port of the cluster.
  • Connected Nodes: In this field, you can see the total number of connected nodes.
  • Connection: In this field, you can see the status for the connected node i.e.: Not Connected or Connected
  • Action: In this field, you can either edit or delete an existing cluster. To edit the cluster, you have to select the checkbox and then click on the Edit Cluster icon. To delete the cluster, you have to click on the Delete icon.
