The Messaging Service configuration requires users to select specific fields to properly set it up. Below are the key fields and settings involved:

Messaging Service Provider Settings

• Vendor: Users must select a vendor from the available options, including Tibco, Kafka, and IBMMQ.
• Use SSL Connection: Applicable only to Tibco. When enabled, users must provide SSL settings in both Source and Destination configurations.
• Mode: Two modes are available:
  • Consume: The message is consumed and discarded.
  • Forward: The message is consumed and forwarded to the destination after applying any find-and-replace parameters (if applicable).

Source Settings

• Server: Enter the IP or Host Name of the server.
• Port: Provide the server's port number.
• User Name: Enter the user name for authentication.
• Password: Provide the user's password.
• Type/Messaging: Define whether the message is being sent to a topic or a queue.
  • Topic: In messaging systems, a topic is a logical channel used for broadcasting messages to multiple subscribers in a publish-subscribe model. Publishers send messages to a topic, and subscribers receive them based on their subscription.
  • Queue: A queue, in contrast, is used in point-to-point messaging where messages are sent to a specific destination (queue) and are processed by a single receiver.
• Topic/Queue Value: Provide the Topic or Queue name.
• Queue Manager: Provide name of Queue Manager. Which is the unique identifier assigned to a queue manager in a messaging system. The queue manager is responsible for managing message queues, handling message transactions, and ensuring communication between different applications or systems. The Queue Manager Name helps distinguish it from other queue managers within the same or interconnected environments.
• Channel Name: A Channel Name refers to a specific communication link or path between two queue managers or between a queue manager and a client application. It defines the settings for the data transmission, such as protocol, encryption, and connection details.
• Queue Name: A Queue Name is the identifier of a specific queue within a messaging system where messages are stored temporarily before being processed or delivered. Queues are used to hold messages until they are consumed by an application or forwarded to another system.
• Connection: This option is exclusive to the Kafka vendor. Select the connection type from the following options: Plain Text, SSL, SASL_Plain_Text, or SASL_SSL. If a connection type other than Plain Text is selected, additional configuration settings will be required.

  Additional Settings

  • SSL Settings:
    • Use Specific Ciphers: Allows the user to select specific ciphers for secure communication.
    • Kafka Client Authentication: If enabled, users need to provide:
      • Certificate File: Upload the certificate file.
      • Key File: Upload the key file.
      • Password: Enter the password.
      • Trusted CA File: Upload the trusted CA file.
  • SASL Settings: To enable, select the Enable SASL Authentication checkbox and provide:
    • User: Enter the user name.
    • Password: Enter the password.
    • Mechanism: This refers to the authentication methods supported by Kafka for securing communication between clients and brokers. These mechanisms provide secure access and control over Kafka topics and messages. The available SASL mechanisms include:
      • PLAIN: Simple username and password authentication.
      • SCRAM-SHA-256: Secure authentication using the SHA-256 hashing algorithm.
      • SCRAM-SHA-512: Secure authentication using the SHA-512 hashing algorithm.
      • GSSAPI: Kerberos-based authentication mechanism.
      • OAUTHBEARER: Token-based authentication using OAuth2.

Source Server SSL Settings

Users need to configure SSL information for the source server from which Service Virtualization consumes messages. The required fields include:

• Cipher: Enter the encryption algorithm. Multiple ciphers can be provided, separated by a colon.
• Private Key File: Used for encryption/decryption between server and clients.
• Host Name: Provide the host name.
• Trusted CA: Upload the trusted CA file for cryptographic linking with a public key.
• Issuer: Upload the client issuer file.
• Identity: Upload the client identity file.
• Password: Enter the password for the primary key file.

The destination settings mirror the source settings for configuration.
