Service Creation using Open API

Service Virtualization allows you to create service from an open API 2.0 document. it can be a JSON or YAML file.

• Project : A project in service virtualization refers to a directory that consists of one or more inter-related virtualized services.
  User can define various configurations that apply to all the services within that project. Projects provide a way to manage and maintain a cohesive set of virtualized services with a common context or purpose.
• Subproject : It refers to a smaller unit or subset of services within a project. It allows user for further categorization and organisation of virtualized services within the project.

How to Create a Virtual Service Using Open API Pairs

• User can upload open API document using file or URL.
• Once uploaded, the endpoint URL and their HTTP method are populated with information from the Open API document.
• Click Next.
• This takes you to 'Resource List' where all endpoint URLs are displayed with service and template name.
  • The endpoint URL that contains variable(s) are unchecked and disabled in resource list table. User needs to do a test for these endpoint URL to fetch the response from server.
• You can select all or few to create service.
• Next click on the "Create Services" which will only create the service (for selected rows) while "Create Service and Activate" will create and activate the service virtualization server also.

NOTES

• The Open API URL must be accessible from the service virtualization server where you are creating service.
• Single Service is created for same endpoint URL.
• The service name is created using the file name and operation, however one can modify it by clicking the name (if required)
• The endpoint URL which have some dynamic value (variable) are shown disabled. User needs to replace the variable with value and test to fetch the response from server.
