This section is used to configure Drill Down Reports and Network Logs settings and Logging settings for test groups. Each test run is assigned a sequentially generated number. For each test run, a log directory is created by the name TRxxx, where xxx is the test run number under the logs directory. Test run logs directory contains logs. Logs are created for storing records of any test run.

DRILL DOWN REPORTS AND NETWORK LOGS

Network logs are important logs, such as request, response, response body, and parameterization information which is shown in the network logs UI. Network Logs settings are group-based. Users can specify different settings for different test groups.

Users just have to enable the "Network logs" to see the data after enabling the drill down report.

Users can specify how much percentage of DDR records need to be logged in the database. From these Drill down data, you can capture the network logs for the specified percentage of all sessions and error sessions.

• Enable drill down reports: Check this to see drill down data in your test. By default, it is enabled.
  • Capture specified % of all sessions: Specify the percentage of all sessions for which data will be captured. By default, the value of this field is set to 1%. The value can be specified in the range of 0% to 10%. If configured outside this range, LOAD TEST will set and update this value to 10% by giving an appropriate message.
  • Capture specified % of error session whose page/transaction failed: Specify the percentage of error sessions whose pages or transactions will be failed for which data will be captured. By default, the value of this field is set to 10%. The value can be specified in the range of 0% to 100%.
  • Capture specified % of sessions where any URL of page's response time is higher than the specified time(ms): Specify the percentage of sessions for which data will be captured when any URL's response time is higher than specified time. By default, the value of session is 0% and time is 500 ms.
• Enable Network Logs: After enabling drill down report, you will enable the network logs for capturing the specified percentage of complete and error sessions in the network logs. By default, it is disabled.
  • Capture specified % of complete sessions: Select the specified % of complete sessions is to be used for network logs from the % specified in the drill down report for all sessions. By default, the value of this field is set to 1%.
  • Capture specified % of error sessions: Select the specified % of error sessions is to be used for network logs from % specified in the drill down report for error session. By default, the value of this field is set to 1%.
    You can capture error sessions in network logs with failed pages/Transaction and also with Complete Sessions.
    • Failed Pages/Transaction: Trace information of error sessions with all failed pages/transactions is displayed in the network logs UI.
    • Complete Sessions: Trace information of error sessions with all executed pages is displayed in the network logs UI.
  • You can also capture the network logs of main URL for the following options:
    • Used Parameter Substitution: If you will select the "Used Parameter Substitution" option from the drop down, it will capture the network logs with parameter substitution used in the main URL and displayed in the network logs UI.
    • Used Parameter Substitution and Network Logs: If you select the “Used Parameter Substitution and Network Logs” option from the drop down, it will capture the network logs with parameter substitution and page dump used in the main URL and displayed in the network logs UI.

Limit Settings

All limit settings will be disabled. After enabling the network logs, you will be able to set the limit for the network logs. You can set the limit on the following options:

• Capture Inline request and response in Network Logs: You will enable the checkbox to capture the inline requests and responses in the network logs.
• Maximum parameter count per session for network log data: Set the maximum number of parameters that was stored in the network logs data for the individual session. By default, the value of this field is set to 1024.
• Maximum buffer size per session for network log data: Set the maximum length of buffer for storing the values in the network logs data for the individual session. By default, the value of this field is set to 10 KB.

• Maximum size of single request data: Set the maximum size of single request data in MB. By default, the value of this field is set to 10 MB. 
• Maximum size of single response data: Set the maximum size of single response data in MB. By default, the value of this field is set to 1024 MB.
• Keep last N pages and all further pages in case of error session and higher response time: Keep the data of drill down report for specified number of last pages before error page or higher response page. By default, 25 pages will be captured.
  
  If “continue on page failure” is enabled, then it will also capture pages after the error page. But in cases of high response times, it will always capture all further pages after a higher response time.

Note:

• For debug tests and RBU tests, 100% of sessions will be captured in the drill down reports.
• Debug test is a smoke or validation test with the following schedule:
• Maximum 10 Virtual Users or 100 session/minute rate.
• Maximum duration of 5 minutes or 100 sessions.

LOGGING

Logging settings control what logs are logged in the test run log. Logged messages have a log level associated with it. Log level specifies the verbosity of the message. Messages with a higher log level represent a higher level of verbosity.

Logs are categorized into the following:

• Standard logs: The standard log sends a subset of functions and messages sent during script execution to a log. The subset depends on the Vuser type.
• Extended logs: Extended log sends detailed script execution messages to the output log.
• Debug logs: A debug log records database operations, system processes, and errors that occur when executing a transaction or running tests.

You can select the log- level from the drop down for which you want to apply the logging settings:

Additional Settings:

• Enable Virtual User Trace: It is used to trace the virtual users to look for errors that occur with certain virtual users. If applied on a group, this can trace a virtual user accessing a page by "Manage Logs -> Logs -> Virtual User Trace" from Dashboard UI.
• Show Runtime Progress of Runlogic: When enabled, users can see the flow of script execution. This displays information, such as actual Vs expected PVS of individual flow or overall in "Manage Load -> Run Time Progress -> Runlogic Progress" from Dashboard UI.
