Overview

Exceptions are a specific type of log message that records unexpected or abnormal events or errors in the application or system. These can include: runtime errors, crashes, warnings or other issues that need attention. In log data, an exception refers to the entries or records within a log file that captures information about unexpected and exceptional events, errors, or issues that have occurred within a software application, system or service. In exceptions window, there are following fields which are listed below:

  • Exception: This refers to an error, or an unexpected or exceptional error or issue that has occurred within an application or system.
  • Log Types: This refers to the classification of the log entries based on the nature or purpose of the recorded information.
  • Count: This refers to the numeric value that represents the number of times a specific error, condition or log entry has occurred within a given time frame.
  • First Occurence: This refers to the date and time when a specific error, condition or log entry was initially recorded or detected.
  • Last Seen: This refers to the date and time when a specific error or condition was most recently recorded.
Notes:
  • In the exception window, you can see the most frequently occurred exception along with its graph by clicking on the Most Frequent tab.
  • You can also see the most recently occurred exception along with its graph by clicking on the Most Recent tab.
  • You can also see the Exception data in graphical format below, where the X-axis represents the date and time at which the exception has occurred and on the Y-axis represents the count of the exceptions
