GC Analyzer serves as a specialized tool meticulously crafted to simplify the analysis and visualization of Garbage Collection logs through an intuitive user interface (UI). From a user perspective, this feature offers an elevated and user-friendly experience, empowering individuals to comprehensively analyze GC logs. It provides valuable insights, making the process of understanding and interpreting GC logs more efficient and accessible.

Pre-Requisites

CMON should be running and GC log files should be present.

Configuration

Since the GC Analyzer allows you to analyze GC logs in an interactive and detailed UI, it requires the complete path of the GC log file along with the following information:

• Tier: User need to select the tier name for GC Logs.
• Server: User need to select the server's name perspective to the selected tier.
• Download GC File: Click on Download GC File for downloading the file. A pop-up box will appear where you need to provide “File Name with Absolute Path” for downloading the GC file from the server for e.g. if your GC file name is “tomcat_gc_202311020.log” and it resides on the following path: “/work/apps/apache-tomcat-9.0.65/logs” then you need to provide the complete path i.e. “/work/apps/apache-tomcat-9.0.65/logs/ tomcat_gc_202311020.log”

GC Log (s)

There will be a tabular formation where you will have following options:

• Tier: This will show the tier name which was selected for downloading the GC log.
• Server: This will show the server’s name which was selected for downloading the GC log.
• Time: This will show the Date and Time in MM/DD/YY & HH/MM/SS format at which the GC log was downloaded.
• User Name: This will show the User details who has downloaded the GC logs.
  • File Pathway at Server: This will display the file pathway on the server, indicating the location from which the log file can be downloaded, such as "/work/apps/apache-tomcat-9.0.65/logs ".
• File Pathway at NDE: This will display the file pathway on the NDE server, indicating the storage location of downloaded log files, "example:“/home/cavisson/work/logs/TRNo./23456789/server_logs/TIER_14”.
• File Name: This will show the file name of the GC log file for example: “tomcat_gc_202311020”.
• Action: You can perform the following actions on the GC Log(s) window which are listed:
  • Delete: You can delete the downloaded GC log file.
  • Analyze: You can analyze the downloaded GC log file details like Command Line Flags, JVM Memory Size, Key Performance Indicator, GC Time, GC Causes, Collection Phases, Object Stats

Note: Users have the flexibility to delete one or multiple downloaded GC log files simultaneously by selecting the "Delete" option located in the top-right corner. This allows for efficient management of log files within a click.

Analyze GC Log from Local

User can Analyze the GC log files from the Local. If you have GC log file in your local system, you can use the option to upload the GC log file.
