The Alerts page provides a centralized view of alerts across all the monitored entities. Users can easily monitor the severity of alerts categorized as Critical, Major, or Minor and track their status in real-time. The table displays essential details, including the node where the alert originated, the severity level, the Observer that triggered the alert, and the exact time it started. Users can also view the latest alert activity, including the most recent acknowledgment and the alert message associated with each event. The page provides options to group alerts, filter by severity, and take immediate actions based on the alert details.

Active Alert Summary

The Alert window displays details of the alerts, with only active alerts shown by default. To view past alerts, users can utilize the dropdown above the table.

• Search: In the search option , the user can search a particular alert by its Severity, Observer Name, Alert Message, and Subject. You can search for an event from the list by using the Search feature. There are the following options for searching:
  • Search by String: The mentioned string is searched in each column.
  • Search by Category: Users can search by various categories.
    • All Active: User can see all the active alerts
    • Active(TR Number): Displays the active alert(s) for the load tests. Clicking on this will reveal all active alerts generated for the currently selected test run, allowing quick access to detailed alert related information.
    • History: Users can see past alerts.
  • Search by Levels: Provides the option to group alerts on the basis of the entity on which it was generated. Following options are present:
    • No Grouping: If you select 'No Grouping,' alerts will be displayed individually, with each alert shown as a separate entry.
    • Group by Incident ID: If you choose 'Group by Incident ID,' all alerts related to the same incident will be grouped together, allowing you to see all alerts associated with a particular incident in one place.
    • Group by Subject at Level 1: If you choose 'Group by Subject at Level 1,' alerts will be categorized according to the tier, i.e. all alerts generated on a specific tier will be grouped together.
    • Group by Subject at Level 2: If you choose 'Group by Subject at Level 2,' alerts will be categorized according to the server, grouping all alerts generated on a specific server together.
    • Group by Subject at Level 3: If you choose 'Group by Subject at Level 3,' alerts will be categorized according to specific instances, grouping all alerts generated on a particular instance together.
  • Search by Status: Such as All, Critical, Major, or Minor.
• Severity: severity level of the alert which helps prioritize actions. Critical/Major/Minor are the values shown under this field.
• Ack: Indicates whether this alert is seen and acknowledged by the user.
• Observer Name: Name of the Observer or the alert rule. You can view the Observer by clicking the link.
• Alert Start Time: The exact time when the alert condition was met and the first alert was generated.
• Last Seen Ago: Displays the amount of time passed since the alert was last generated.
• Alert Message: The alert message associated with the alert, defined under the Observers, which also determine the Severity level.
• Subject: The subject on which the alert is generated. Alerts can be generated on a server, for a process or for any other entity being monitored and on which the Observer is applied.
• Alert Value: The metric value which caused the alert to generate at which the alert is generated. You can view the details in tabular format by clicking the link.

Global Action Icons

• Refresh Events: While you click the Refresh Event button , the newly generated alerts will be updated and displayed on the Alert window. It also changes the values in the Time Ago field according to the current time.
• Acknowledge: It helps to know that you have seen the alert. So, you acknowledge the alert by selecting the records and clicking the Acknowledge button to take further action
• Force Clear Event: Force Clear event is used to delete an event forcefully. To delete an event forcefully, the user has to select the corresponding severity checkbox and then they have to click on the Force Clear Event option.
• Open Graph: This option is used to open the corresponding graph for the particular alert on the dashboard. The user has to select the corresponding severity checkbox and then click on the Open Graph option.
• Download: You can download the alert events in Word, Excel, and PDF formats. Select a record and click the Download option.
• Column Filter: You can apply filters on each column by using the Column Filter button.
• Toggle Columns: You can show/hide the columns based on your requirements by using the Toggle Columns option.
• Setting: It has following settings in the window :
  • Alert Configurations: Alert Configurations consist of several subsections: Global Basic Configurations, where broad settings for event management are defined; Policy, which specifies actions based on event criteria; Action Events, which set triggers for actions based on event severity and status changes; REST API Triggered Event Configurations, allowing event triggers based on REST API interactions; and Extension Configuration, which integrates the platform with external tools like Microsoft Teams.
  • Alert Maintenance: Alert maintenance window configuration is required to disable alert generation at the time of the maintenance period or a scheduled downtime.
• Observers list: Users can add, edit, and view all Observers via this option. Observers, which are alert rules, generate alerts for the required entities, are defined in this section.
• Action list: Users can check all the actions.
