The Update Session window is used to adjust the number of active sessions during a running test. This feature enables you to add new sessions, remove existing sessions, or perform both actions simultaneously. It provides full control over session load distribution and allows real-time modification of session behavior without stopping or restarting the test.

Settings

Distribute Session By

• Number: Distributes sessions based on a specific numeric value that you enter. This is used when you want to add or remove an exact number of sessions.
• Percentage: Distributes sessions as a portion of the total sessions. This is used when session allocation needs to be scaled proportionally across the configured groups.

Total Sessions

• Total Sessions: Displays the number of sessions that will be applied according to the chosen distribution method (Number or Percentage). This value determines how many sessions will be added, removed, or updated across selected groups.

Action

• Add Sessions: Adds new sessions to the running test as per the configured group distribution.
• Remove Sessions: Removes existing sessions from the running test as per the configured group distribution.
• Both: Performs both add and remove operations together, allowing fine-grained control over session redistribution.

Fix Concurrent Users Group

This section allows you to specify how sessions should be applied for each selected group. The configuration is performed at the group level.

• Group Name: Displays the name of the group where the session changes will be applied.
• User Profile: Shows the user profile associated with the selected group.
• Script Name: Displays the script assigned to the group, indicating the workflow executed by that group.
• Sessions: Specifies the number of sessions to add or remove for that group when distribution is based on a numeric value.
• Percentage: Specifies the percentage of total sessions to allocate to the group when distribution is based on percentage mode.

Buttons

• Apply: Applies the session update configuration to the running test and initiates add/remove actions based on selected settings.
• Cancel: Closes the window without applying any modifications.

Notes

• Sessions added at runtime: Added according to the schedule configuration defined for the test.
• Sessions removed at runtime: Removed from the system based on the removal schedule settings.
• Session decrease: Depends on the availability of active sessions and may vary based on system state and schedule configuration.
