The Update User/Session Rate window allows users to dynamically add or remove virtual users during a running test. This helps control load distribution, increase or decrease traffic, and manage user sessions without restarting the test. The feature is divided into two sections:

• General Settings: Used to configure how new users should be added or distributed
• Advance Settings: Used to configure how existing users should be removed from the system.

General Settings: The General Settings tab allows you to define how users will be added during the test.

Distributed By: This option determines how users are distributed across groups:

• Number: Specify the exact number of users to add.
• Percentage: Specify a percentage of users to be added based on total virtual users.

Total Virtual Users

Displays the total number of users configured for the test. This value updates automatically based on the distribution type.

Group-Level Configuration

Each group row allows the following configurations:

• Group Name: The group where users will be added.
• User Profile: The profile assigned to the group.
• Script Name: Script associated with the group.
• Users: Number of users to add (applicable when distributed by Number).
• Percentage: User percentage allocation (applicable when distributed by Percentage).
• Action: Defines how users will be processed, i.e. Add User or Remove User.
• Schedule Settings: Specifies how users will be added, such as Simultaneously.

Control Buttons

• Apply: Applies the user/session rate update to the running test.
• Reset: Clears the entered values.
• Cancel: Closes the window without saving.

Notes:

• Users added at runtime follow the increase mode based on the running test phase.
• Increased users are ramped down based on the ramp-down phase in Advanced Settings (applicable for Advanced Tests).
• Users are removed according to the decrease mode selected for the running test phase.
• Users are removed based on the decrease session rate option when enabled.

Advance Settings:

The Advance Settings tab defines how users should be removed from the system.

1. Delete User Options:
   • Remove users which are existing in the system
     Removes only the users currently active in the test.
   • Remove users which are ramped up and not ramped up as well
     Removes both ramped-up and not-yet-ramped-up users.
2. Order of Removal
   • Allows selecting the priority for removing users. Example: Remove ramped-up first.
3. Update Session as per User
   • When enabled, session updates follow the user removal process.
4. Remove Users Immediately
   • Removes users instantly without considering any ramp-down logic.

Notes:

• Users added at runtime follow the increase mode for the running test phase.
• Increased users are removed based on ramp-down logic defined in Advanced Settings.
• Users are removed according to the decrease mode for the running phase.
• Users are removed when the decrease session rate option is selected.
