Repository URL

In the Repository URL field, you need to specify the URL of the machine repository where your files are stored. Based on the type of URL, HTTP/HTTPS or SSH, the configuration options are displayed.

• HTTP/HTTPS Repository URL
  If you provide HTTP/HTTPS repository URL, need to provide following server details:
  • Disable SSL Certificate: Select the "Disable SSL Certificate" option to enable or disable SSL verification.
  • User Name: Specify a Git user name.
  • Password: Specify the password of the Git user.
• SSH Repository URL
  If you provide the SSH repository URL, you can log in using the following options:
  • Via Username/Password: Provide Git username and password
  • Via SSH key
• Via Username/Password
  • Provide the Git username and password.
• Via SSH key
  If you choose to log in using the Via SSH Key option, provide the following details:
  • User Name: Specify a Git user name.
  • Generate SSH Key: if an SSH key is not available for your machine, you need to generate the key by clicking icon .
  • SSH Key: If an SSH key is already generated for your machine, you can simply browse and select the required key by clicking the Browse SSH Key icon.
  • PassPhrase: provide the required passphrase.

Specify the Branch & Author Details

Based on the selected repository, the branch options are updated in the Branch drop-down list. Clicking the icon updates the list with the related branches. Select the required branch from the drop-down list. Provide Author Info details by specifying the full name of the user and email address.

Performing Git Operations

After specifying the configuration, you can perform one of the following Git operations in the Git Configuration window:

• Git Clone: Creates a clone of the scenarios and scripts present on a remote Git server.
• Git Pull: Pulls data from the remote repository.
• Git Commit: In NS, commit works as Git Add > Commit > Push.
• Git Push: Pushes the committed changes in remote repository.

• Git Clone : This option creates a clone of the scenarios and scripts present on a remote Git server. A user can create a clone of the entire scenarios / scripts directory present on the remote server. By cloning, all committed projects and sub - projects present in scenarios / scripts are copied to the scenarios / scripts directory on the local machine. To perform this operation, select a record / more records and click the Git Clone option. On successful processing, a message is displayed - Cloning done successfully.
• Git Commit : This is used to commit the changes to the local repository. Select a record and click the Git Commit button. A dialog box is displayed where the user needs to provide the comments and click the Commit button.
• Git Pull : It is used to pull the latest commits from remote server to local repository. By refreshing scenarios / scripts, all recently committed files on master repository are fetched to the scenarios / scripts directory of local repository Select a record and click the Git Pull button. On successful processing, a message is displayed – Refresh successfully.
