The Map Configuration panel allows users to generate different types of visual heatmaps that analyze user interactions on a webpage. These maps help in understanding user behavior by tracking clicks, navigation, scrolling, engagement, and attention.

Users can configure the map by selecting a time range, user segment, and additional customization options before generating the desired map by using followings

• Map Type Selection: Choose between Click Map, Navigation Map, Scroll Map, Heat Map, or Attention Map
• Time Range: Select a specific start and end time or define a relative time window (e.g., last 4 hours, last 1 day).
• User Segmentation: Filter data based on user groups for targeted analysis.
• Additional Customization: Enable options such as showing hidden elements, highlighting elements not in the current view, rollover mode, and adjusting data granularity.

Map Types

Click Map

The Click Map visually represents areas where users interact the most by clicking. This helps identify popular buttons, links, and sections on a webpage.

Configuration Steps are as follows:

• Time Range Selection:
  • Start/ End Time : Users need to specify start time and end time.
  • Last Time: Alternatively, users can use the Last Used Time dropdown with options: 1 Hour, 4 Hours, 8 Hours, 12 Hours, 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month, 1 Year.
  • User Segment: Allows users to filter data based on different groups for more focused analysis. For example, new vs. returning users, device type, geographic location, traffic source, user behavior, time of visit, referral channel, subscription level, engagement level, and user role.
• Additional Settings
  • Show Hidden Element: Enables visibility for elements that are usually hidden on the page, such as dropdown menus or dynamic content.
  • Show Elements Not Present in Current View: Displays elements that are outside the visible screen area, helping analyze interactions beyond the initial viewport.
  • Rollover Mode: Highlights user interactions that involve hovering over elements, useful for understanding non-click engagements.
  • Threshold: Defines the minimum interaction level required for data to be included in the map, allowing users to filter out low-activity areas.
• Granularity:
  • Table: Adjusts the level of detail for table-based data representation.
  • View: Controls the precision of the visual data, affecting how interactions are displayed on the heatmap.

Navigation Map

The Navigation Map tracks and visualizes how users move between different sections of a webpage. It helps identify common navigation paths, drop-off points, and areas where users spend the most time.

• Time Range Selection
  • Start/End Time: Users need to manually select the start time and end time using date and time pickers.
  • Last Time: Alternatively, users can use the Last Used Time dropdown with options: 1 Hour, 4 Hours, 8 Hours, 12 Hours, 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month, 1 Year.
  • User Segment: User Segment: Allows users to filter data based on different user groups for a more targeted analysis, such as new vs. returning users, device type, geographic location, traffic source, user behavior, time of visit, referral channel, subscription level, engagement level, and user role.

For example, if the threshold is set to 5%, only navigation paths taken by at least 5% of users will be displayed, removing uncommon or one-off interactions.
• Granularity
  • Table: Adjusts the level of detail for table-based data representation.
  • View: Controls the precision of the visual data, affecting how interactions are displayed on the heatmap.

Scroll Map

The Scroll Map visually represents how far users scroll on a webpage, helping identify which sections receive the most attention and where users drop off.
