A session is a sequence of activities that a visitor with a unique IP address spends on a website during a specified period. A visitor session begins upon accessing the application and ends when the visitor quits the application. The number of visitor sessions on a site is used in measuring the amount of traffic a website gets. In a session, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Session Details
• Pages
• Custom Metrics

Note: You can access a specific session detail by clicking on that corresponding session on the left side panel.

Pages

Pages typically refers to the individual web page or screen that a user interacts with during a session on a website or a web application. It will show the details of all pages captured in that particular session. The page’s tab displays information about the pages linked to the session, including: Page Start Time, Page Name, Associated Events, etc. In pages, you can see the following details which are listed below:

• Actions: This shows the action which can be taken against the particular page. There are following two actions which can be performed in the page window which are listed below:
  1. View Flow Path Report : On clicking this icon, you will be navigated to the Flowpath window where you can view the flowpath details.
  2. View Logs : On clicking this icon, you will be navigated to the Logs window where you can view the logs which are being generated for a particular page .
  3. Add to similar session filter bag: On clicking this icon, you can apply sequence for the page, event, action, cookies and HTTP calls.
• Start Time: This shows the commencement time of the page execution.
• Page Name: This is a user-defined metric used to identify and track the names of web pages visited by the users during their interactions with a website, application or digital platform.
  1. Page Dump indicates if the page dump is captured or not, if the icon is visible then the page dump is taken for that particular page.
  2. Reload icon indicates the page navigation type of that particular page.
• Events: This shows the name of the event which is being currently runed in the session. An event is a situation a visitor might face while accessing a site.
• TTFB (sec): Time to First Byte (TTFB) is the total amount of time spent to receive the first byte of the response once it has been requested.
• Onload (sec): Onload time occurs when the processing of the page is complete and all resources of the page have finished downloading.
• TTDL (sec): This stands for Time to DOM load. It is the point at which DOM is ready and there are no stylesheets blocking JavaScript execution.
• PRT (sec): Perceived Render Time is the time when the viewpoint area of the client browser is visually complete.
• TTDI (sec): This stands for Time to DOM Interactive. This shows the point where the browser has finished loading and parsing HTML
• TabId: This shows the numeric or alphanumeric identifier that uniquely identifies and open tab within the user’s browser session.
• Cache (sec): This shows the high speed data storage layer that temporarily stores frequently used or recently accessed data. The purpose of cache is to provide quick access to the data and reduce the need to retrieve it from slower, primary storage locations such as: Disk Storage.
• DOM Time (sec): This shows the amount of time taken for the Document Object Model (DOM) of a web page to be constructed during a user’s session within a website.
• DNS (sec): This stands for Domain Name System. This shows the critical component of internet infrastructure that translates human-readable domain names into the numeric IP address that a network device used to communicate and locate each other.
• SSL (sec): Secure Socket Layer is a security protocol that creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser. SSL can impact various aspects of how a web page loads and interacts with users.
• Wait (sec): This shows the amount of time that a user or a system had to wait for a specific event or process to complete during the course of a session. The page needs to wait for the server to fetch HTML, CSS, JavaScript file, images and other resources to render the page to the client (browser), known as “Wait”
• Load Event (sec): This shows the timestamp at which a web page or web application finishes loading and becomes fully interactive for the user.
• Connection (sec): This shows the time spent establishing a network connection between the user's browser and servers when sending data.
• Unload (sec): This shows the event or action that occurs when a user navigates away from a web page or closes a web browser tab or window.
• Download (Sec): This shows the amount of time taken for a web server to process a user’s request for a specific resource, and then send the resource to the user’s browser for downloading.
• Redirection (sec): This shows the time taken by the browser to fetch all redirect URL’s, if there is any redirection in fetching the main URL.
• URL: This shows the address which is used for locating a resource on the internet. This is the URL through which the page is being reached.
• Referral URL: This shows the web address or web URL of the previous web page that a user was on before navigating to the current page. This shows the source from which a visitor has arrived at that particular URL.
• Redirection(s): This shows the count of redirection URL's, if there is any redirection in fetching the main URL.
• BandWidth(sec): This shows the amount of data that can be transmitted over a network connection in a given amount of time.
• BytesIn: This includes all the resources that make up the web page, such as: HTML files, CSS stylesheets, JavaScript files, images, fonts, and any other assets that are required to render the page correctly.
• PageInstance: This refers to a unique representation of a specific web page or screen that a user interacts with during a browsing session.
• Transaction ID: This refers to a specific identifier assigned to a transaction or action that a user initiates while interacting with a web application or website. This denotes the ID of the transaction.
• TTI (sec): Time to Interactive is when the website is usually usable and engaging. This represents the amount of time taken for a web page to become fully interactive and responsive to user input after it has started loading.
• FID (sec): First Input Delay (FID) measures the delay between a user’s first interaction with a web page and the time when the page responds to that interaction.
• FP (sec): First Paint (FP) measures the time it takes for the first non-blank pixel to be rendered on the screen after a user requests a web page.
• FCP (sec): First Content Paint Timestamp measures the time it takes for the first piece of content or visual element to be rendered on the screen after a user requests a web page.

Note: You can also perform the following operations on the page window which are listed below:

• Column Filter: You can perform search operation to the column by clicking on the Column Filter button in the table.
• Toggle Column: You can Show/Hide a column by clicking on the Toggle Column button in the table.
• Scatter Map: You can view the page details in a scatter map by clicking on the Scatter Map button.
• Export Table: You can download the page table by clicking on the Export Table button. You can download the pages table in the following three formats: CSV, Excel and PDF.
• Reload Session(s): You can reload the pages window by clicking on the Reload Session(s) button.

Global Action Items

In the session details window, you can also perform the following operations which are listed below:

• Play Session : On clicking this icon, you can replay a session from the session detail window. This navigates the you to the session replay window.
• Export Session Details : On clicking this icon, you can download the session details in Excel
• Similar Session Filter Bag : On clicking this icon, you will have these options: include user action, include HTTP failure, include JS error, include event. You can select either single or multiple options, once you select you have to click on the Submit Submit Button. Once you click on the button, the sequnce will be add into the similar session filter bag.
• Export as Test Case : On clicking this icon, you can download the test cases into your local.
• View Flow path Report : On clicking this icon, you will be navigated to the Flowpath window where you can view the ND flowpath reports of that particular session.
• View Logs : On clicking this icon, you will be navigated to the Logs window where you can view the NF log reports of that particular session.

Note: You can also see the Session ID at the top left corner of the Session window.
