The name or value pairs that are presented in the request and response messages of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol are known as HTTP headers (HTTP). Following are the ways to add Headers in HTTP requests:

• Headers added with recording (in ns_web_url API).
• By manually adding in ns_web_url API.
• Adding a header using the ns_web_add_header() or ns_web_add_auto_header() API.
• Adding via Group Settings > Protocol settings > HTTP > Header from the test.

ADD HEADER OPTIONS

• Header Name : Specify the name of the header.
• Header Value : Value of the header which you want to pass in the request.
• URL : For URL, select anyone from the following drop-down in which you want to pass the header:
  • Main
  • Inline
  • All

ADD PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT HEADER

• Send transaction name in HTTP request header
  Each request must include the "CavTxName" header, which will contain the transaction name specified in the script. Users can send this header for either the main request or both the main and inline requests.
  In an inline request, the "CavTxName" header will include the prefix "Inline." at the beginning of the header value. This allows for easy identification and differentiation of the transaction associated with the inline request.
  Example:
  CavTxName: HTTPs_Tx_1
• Send X-Correlation-ID in HTTP request header
  The "x-correlation-id" header, which has a Unique id made up of a combination of the Virtual user id, Session instance, Transaction (last page of the transaction), and Page id A page instance is used in the absence of a defined transaction. Users can send this header for either the main request or both the main and inline requests.
  Example:
  X-Correlation-ID:CAV1023- 101000100000002002500000000000000010000000100010000
• Send X-DynaTrace in HTTP request header
  By enabling this checkbox, the "x-dynatrace" header will contain a combination of the Unique id, transaction name, Virtual User and Test Run number as its value.
  This header contain information or data used by Dynatrace for tracking and monitoring the performance of applications and services. Users can send this header for either the main request or both the main and inline requests.
  Example:
