This functionality is used to open/merge/compare metrics from the tree with advanced options like grouping based on Tier, Server, Region, Zone, Node, and Name Space and based on some filters on data value with visualization of result before applying.

Operation Type

Denotes the operations to be performed on metrics.

• Open metric:- It opens all the individual metrics at individual panels.
• Merge metric:- All the corresponding metrics are displayed in a single widget of the dashboard.
• Advanced open/merge:- It contains some advanced options for open/merge metrics as displayed in the 'Operations' section.
• Advance compare group metric:- Compare metrics of different components of hierarchy like all metrics of all servers, all processes or all tiers. In case of the compare members, multiple metrics are always displayed in different widgets.

Tags

Tags refers to the key-value pairs that you can assign to various monitored entities within an environment. These entities can include hosts, processes, services, applications and more. Tags are used to organize monitoring data and analysis based on all  related entities in all parts of the system, facilitating streamlined organization, analysis, and correlation of data across various components.

For e.g. you can define tags to segregate different environments, applications and services in the following manner:

• env: prod
• app: my_app
• service: login

Note: The values for the tags will be configured from the backend.

Operations

• This section has a number of dropdown's as a number of hierarchical components present on selected metrics e.g. If the meta data of the selected metric is Tier>Server>Instance, then there are three dropdowns. Each dropdown has 3 values:
• Same:- It will search with a specific selected value of this subject.
• All:- It will search with all values of this subject.
• Pattern:- In this case the user needs to give a pattern and based on that pattern it will search the metrics. For example, if pattern is 'System*' then it will search those subject which started with 'System'
• Show together can be applied when 'all' or 'patterns' are selected. If the same value is selected in the dropdown, then the 'show together' checkbox is not visible. This option is to see all metrics of this subject on one widget or on different widgets.

Metric Visualization

This feature to see output of given operations. It shows when the user clicks on the 'Preview' button.

Advance Settings

• Show: You can select what value of metric you want to see on graph Avg/Min/Max/Count.
• Filter: Filters allow users to refine displayed data based on specific criteria or conditions.
  • All Zero Values: It shows only those metrics which have all zero values during the applied period.
  • All Non-Zero Values: It shows only those metrics which don't have all zero values in the applied period.
  • Advance Filter:
    • Include: Users need to select this if they want to include those metrics which are qualifying given filter criteria.
    • Exclude: Users need to select this if they want to exclude those metrics which are qualifying given filter criteria.
    • Further users can give filter criteria on any value Avg/Min/Max and can give <, <=,>, >=, In-Between from a specific value. Also user can define filter criteria to see in Top N (i.e. Top 5 or Top 10) or at bottom N (i.e. bottom 5 or bottom 10).
• Open with new layout:- User can select from given options with how many widgets want to open new metrics. This option is mandatory to select if any saved favorite is open. In such cases this check box will be checked and disabled.
